This past weekend, several MARs members headed south to the Mississauga Marathon and Half Marathon as well as the Goodlife Toronto Marathon and Half Marathon. Runners were treated with excellent conditions after a winter and a half worth of hard work.
Starting in the west end, Darla Coles had an incredible performance in the full marathon. The Rocket ran 3:10:48 for 1st female master, 4th female overall and 1st in her age group. Impressed but not surprised given her consistent PRs all season long. See you in Boston, Snotty. 😉
Andre VH Boudreault lead the MARs men in the full marathon, running 3:16:34 and punching his ticket to Boston 2020. Brian Gray ran a hard race for 3:36:49, improving upon his time from last year’s race by a full minute.
In the Mississauga Half, Mac McIntosh, Stella Keay, and Peter Ryback all ran strong races, posting times of 1:31:57, 1:40:37, and 2:06:04, respectively.
Over in Toronto, Chris Lil T Watson crushed his competition in the half with a 1:16:25, finishing 1st in his age category and 4th overall. Going to go ahead and say that MARs is going to see a sub 2:40 marathon happen in NYC this fall.
Group workouts continue on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Check TeamSnap for details and other upcoming events as we roll into summer.
See you on the roads. – Forrest
