Still Winter On MARS

It’s still winter on MARS and will be for a while.  Despite this, 7 MARSians braved -30C and ran 32K with the last 3K at marathon race pace.  There were frozen water bottles, frozen privates, bloody toes and one member of A Flock Of Seagulls.  Come run with us to find out what that all means.  The recovery shakes, sauna and hot tub make it all worthwhile.

Workouts continue this week.  Members can access the calendar at The TeamSnap website.  Next workout is Tuesday 6:15 am departing from The Summit Center and we will be long hill repeats. The next Masters Indoor Track race is February 8 at York University.  Details can be found here.

The Chilly Hilly Half MARSathon is in exactly 3 weeks on February 22.  We have opened a limited number of spots for the 10K event.  Registration closes February 20 and details can be found here.  If you know someone who would like to help with timing or driving runners doing the 10K to their start let us know.

Though winter is raging on, we are looking ahead to spring.  MARS is planning an exciting 8 week Fun Run Series to begin the week of May 4.  Please help us make this series successful by answering our survey here.

MARS is returning to The Craftsbury Outdoor Center’s High School Cross Country Running Camp June 27-July 4 inclusive.  See Craftsbury Website for details and click here for other details.

Anyone on TeamSnap who has not renewed their club membership will be removed from TeamSnap this week but welcomed back when you (re)join the club.

A HUGE congratulations to Canadian Cam Levins who outran world class competition to win both the mile and 2 mile races at The Armory Track Invitational Saturday night.  Great work Cam!  Read about his races here.
