Rebecca Francis Rocks The Gold Medal
11 MARSians journeyed to Toronto yesteday for the Sunnybrook 8K XC race. Leading the way were the women’s 30-39 team of Rebecca Francis, Jess Sheppard and Katherine Ahokas, who placed first. The women’s 40-49 team of Jen Macmillan, Jen Nicholson and Helen Dempster placed second. Dave Bialkowski and Pierre Mikhail joined Dan Quigg on the men’s 30-39 team, running down (several) age groups and the team placed second. Bob Wild, 82, placed first in the 80+ age group!

MARS workouts continue Tuesday and Thursday this week at 6:30 am at Conroy Track. Tuesday will be an easy run and Thursday a 5K time trial.
The Deadline to enter Athletics Ontario XC Championships in Niagara Falls is November 10 at 3pm. The race is November 16 and the Masters Race start time is 12:30pm. Entry details here
