MARS has survived back to school and is back training for fall XC races. Our next workouts are Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30 am at Conroy Track, and Saturday morning meeting at Highway 60 Tim Horton’s. See calendar for start time and details.
MARS continues to support the Huntsville Hoyas XC Team. Over 70 kids came out to our first meeting Thursday, followed by great turn outs to practices Thursday and Friday. These young runners will spend a lot of time of their feet these next 7 weeks, getting ready for the regional finals, GBSAA, and hopefully OFSAA for some. Whatever happens they will be better runners when the season is over and will have learned a great deal about themselves.
Come join the Hoyas at Arrowhead Park next Saturday September 13. We will be holding a joint Hoyas/MARS practice finishing with a 4K or 6K time trial. We will be using our timing equipment as practice for our own Hoya Hills XC Invitational September 23. There is no fee to enter but you do need to be a Hoya or a MARS member. Results will be posted online after the event on Webscorer. MARS member can select Open Male or Open Female distance category and choose 4 or 6 K. The workout starts at 9 am at the upper Arrowhead office and the race/time trial will happen around 10 am on the landing strip. High school runners DO NOT need to register, as this will be done for you. For MARS runners, to register CLICK HERE.
