Eleven Huntsville runners joined 27,000 running down Yonge Street in Toronto today at The Sporting Life 10K.
The race raises money for a local Muskoka summer camp, Camp Oochigeas. Camp Oochigeas, located near Rosseau, offers year round programs for children affected by childhood cancer.
Our runners were lead by Jeffery Hoover and Roger Penney, who completed the race in 35:19 and 39:07 respectively, on a windy, cold day.
Also competing were two Huntsville Hoya high school runners. Shannon Marshall and Sarah Steele.
Other local competitors in the race were Tina Steele, Adam and Sarah Caswell, Nicole Howell, Nancy Price, Denise Penney, and Kelly Gates.
Congratulations to all our local runners.
The club continues to meet this Tuesday (May 14) at Conroy Track at 6:30 am. This week we will be doing mile repeats on the track.
